Simon de Senlis Primary School is an inclusive school in the East Hunsbury area of Northampton serving an aspirational local community. Originally opened as Simon de Senlis Lower School in 1994, the school expanded as part of the Northampton Town organisation in 2006 and was extended to accommodate children in Years 5 and 6 before reopening as a Primary and now has around 420 children on roll from Reception to Year 6.
As well as the mainstream provision, we provide a ‘Special Unit’ for 12 children with complex learning difficulties and have a specialism in Speech and Language Difficulties.
Since April 2015, we have been part of the Northampton Primary Academy Trust (NPAT), working in collaboration with five other Northampton Primary Schools towards a common vision of ‘Extraordinary Children doing Extraordinary Things’. This partnership supports rigorous and effective school improvement as well as access to wider opportunities with sport and performing arts.
Our curriculum is rich and diverse and we are very proud of the children’s achievements in technology, sport and the arts which has been recognised by the following awards:
- ArtsMark Gold – British Arts Council
- Inclusion Mark – Centre of Excellence
- School Games Mark – Silver Mark
