Simon de Senlis Primary School is a dynamic and inclusive school in the East Hunsbury area of Northampton serving an aspirational local community. Children thrive at Simon de Senlis as a result of our engaging and rich curriculum along with the caring and positive relationships between children and staff. Originally opened as Simon de Senlis Lower School in 1994, the school expanded as part of the Northampton Town organisation in 2006 and was extended to accommodate children in Years 5 and 6 before reopening as a Primary and now has around 430 children on roll from Reception to Year 6.
As well as the mainstream provision, we are proud of our Special Unit for 20 children with complex learning difficulties.
Since April 2015, we have been part of the Northampton Primary Academy Trust (NPAT), working in collaboration with eleven other Northampton Primary Schools towards a common vision of ‘Extraordinary Children doing Extraordinary Things’. This partnership supports rigorous and effective school improvement as well as access to wider opportunities with sport and the performing arts.
Our curriculum is rich and diverse and we are very proud of the children’s achievements in technology, sport and the arts which has been recognised by the following awards:
- Microsoft Showcase School
- Arts Mark Gold – British Arts Council
- Inclusion Mark – Flagship School
- School Games Mark – Silver Mark
